THIS WEEK IN PINBALL – 7/3/23: Haggis Tease, Rumor-palooza, New Stern Hires, Weird Pinball Machines & MORE
Haggis Pinball Teases Next Game
Haggis Pinball released a somewhat cryptic teaser video for their next game, presumably another remake title in their Bally classics series (Fathom being the first). The video doesn’t reveal much, but people are already speculating that it’s either Eight Ball Deluxe (pool hall sounds) or Centaur (motorcycle sounds).
Cary Hardy has a good breakdown on his YouTube channel, with a few of the different directions a reveal could take.
Setting the TWIP Mood
Get in the proper pinball headspace with a little mood music from YouTuber Pinball Music, and a track from the 1990 Bally classic, Dr. Dude and his Excellent Ray!
Pinball Rumor-palooza
Knapp Arcade touched on a ton of juicy pinball rumors this week. What kind of rumors?
We can’t confirm or deny any of them, but it’s sure fun to speculate!
Ten Pinball Machines Even Weirder Than You
Every now and again, we see some absolutely insane layouts, designs, or gimmicks which send a machine down in fame – or infamy – for their unusual nature. In this post, Kineticist dives into the weird corners of pinball for a bit of fun (and spectacle).
New Stern Hires
One of these is a little belated, but congratulations to a couple of prominent pinball community members, Elizabeth Gieske (Software Developer) and Kyle Spiteri (Technical Services) who are both joining the Stern team.
Elizabeth was interviewed earlier this year on Pinball Profile with Jeff Teolis.
You may already be familiar with Kyle Spiteri from Marco’s PinTech live series (PinTech live isn’t going anywhere)

American Pinball’s lead technician, Peter Munroe, provides a very thorough guide to the installation process of the Galactic Tank Force ball deflector and tank target reinforcement mod. In addition to being helpful for any GTF buyers out there, it’s also worth a watch if you’re new to working with a pinball machine, as Peter does an excellent job walking the viewer through the process of working with a mech on a modern game, covering both topside and below-the-playfield adjustment.
